Maria Johnson

Senior Key Relationships Officer, Charity: Water

Maria has been working in non-profit for almost her entire career. She started out as an account manager for a healthcare services company and most recently, she spend almost eight years at Florida Hospital Foundation in Orlando. She was instrumental in developing fundraising programs for several satellite campuses and spearheading the establishment of a comprehensive fundraising program for the Institute of Translational Research. Her most rewarding assignment was formulating the vision and execution of the fundraising program for the Walt Disney Pavilion, a 250-bed children’s hospital. At charity: water, Maria is responsible for managing The Well program, the membership program of over 100 families who fund the overhead cost of the organization. She also leads the effort to engage and inspire other major supporters, including faith communities, to get involved in changing lives through clean water. Maria loves connecting with people on a deep level and believes people are at their best when they give. Maria was born and raised in Slovakia to a Hungarian family. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. Her recent TEDx talk, “Solving the Water Crisis” shows that everyone can have a role in helping end the water crisis, regardless of their age
