Andrew Hungerford

At Hungerford Properties, Andrew Hungerford is responsible for the asset management, acquisitions and dispositions of a diversified real estate portfolio including industrial, residential, office and retail properties. The portfolio is well positioned in the current turbulent market conditions with a vacancy rate of below 2%, stable cash flows and conservative leverage. Andrew has been instrumental in the creation of the private equity fund, a unique investment opportunity in Western Canada.With over 11 years of real estate experience, Andrew has been involved in the acquisition and asset management of over C$ 3 billion of real estate in North America and Europe. Prior to joining Hungerford Properties, Andrew was stationed in London at Deutsche Bank RREEF, where he oversaw the analysis and due diligence of over EURO 10 billion in potential property acquisitions, including a wide variety of opportunistic and value-add investment opportunities across Europe. During this time, Andrew’s team acquired over EURO 1.4 billion in properties in Europe including residential, office, industrial and retail properties, all having complex financing, legal and tax structuring across numerous jurisdictions with a multitude of consultants and advisors. Due diligence included the creation of complex business plans aimed at value creation. Andrew managed assets of over EURO 2.0 billion in properties.In New York, Andrew worked at The City Investment Fund, a $770 million Morgan Stanley co-sponsored fund, where he reviewed over US$10 billion in potential property acquisitions within the New York City area, and executed on approximately US$900 million of committed investments. Andrew oversaw the asset management for all of the Fund’s investments, totalling close to US$2.0 billion in committed investments.Prior to his time in New York, Andrew worked in acquisitions and asset management at Goldman Sachs in London; at Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. in Hong Kong; and with KPMG’s real estate group in Vancouver.Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Queen’s University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Andrew is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder, a Chartered Accountant in Canada and a Certified Public Accountant in the United States.Andrew has served on the Council for The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light Community Council; the Urban Land Institute, BC Chapter (Co-Chair, Sponsorship); and Queen’s School of Business Capital Campaign Committee.
