Mr. Patton directs his research efforts toward the study of behavioral finance principles and historical stock and market cycles analysis. The company’s investment philosophy is to diversify portfolios beyond traditional stock, bond, and cash into a wide range of non?correlated assets. This strategy is built on principles of behavioral finance and is implemented with a purely rules?based process. The goal of this strategy is to deliver strong positive returns with low correlation to both stocks and bonds to provided diversification in an overall portfolio.Prior to founding Patton Fund Management, Inc., he worked at Melvin Simon & Associates while studying finance at Indiana University. He then went to work for First Union National Bank in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1992, he founded his investment management firm after designing and developing his own proprietary stock and market analysis software that is still used as the backbone of his business today.Mr. Patton has written articles for various magazines and newspapers and has appeared on local and national radio and television programs. This includes a weekly appearance on Inside Indiana Business for the past eight years. He was recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal in its Forty Under Forty list of up?and?coming young businesspersons in 1999 as one of the youngest in the group.
