Robert A. Gough, Jr.

Managing Director, Chief Economist, Fernwood Art Investments, LLC

Mr. Gough is an economist and management consultant who, previous to joining Fernwood, founded and managed Lexington Partners, Inc., a strategic investment-banking firm focused on the deal structure and capitalization of emerging growth opportunities in the private equity and institutional capital markets. Before that, Dr. Gough had been Chairman of Castel, Inc., a software solutions company; President and CEO of Organizational Dynamics, Inc., an international management consulting firm; President and CEO of Corporate Broadcasting Network, a multimedia business information company; Economics Editor at WBZ-TV, the Boston NBC (now CBS) affiliate; and Senior Vice President of Data Resources Inc. (now Global Insight), the leading economic and financial information company. Dr. Gough has appeared regularly on various news programs to discuss topical economic issues including the Lehrer News Hour, The Today Show, Good Morning America, and the CBS Evening News. In addition, Dr. Gough has held senior consulting assignments with various international and federal agencies, such as the Office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Great Britain; the Japanese External Trade Organization, the Bundesbank, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the Grace Commission. He has testified before various U.S. House and Senate committees on U.S. fiscal, monetary, and budgetary policies, and lectured frequently at dozens of Fortune 500 Companies and various leading colleges and universities in the U.S., including the Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, MIT, UCLA, Stanford, Duke, and Wellesley, where he was Visiting Professor of Economics for ten years. Dr. Gough is an alumnus of Bates College and received his Ph.D. from Duke University. He also has held or currently holds various community and board positions including the Council at the MFA Boston, the Board of Overseers and Fellows at Bates College, and the Board of Advisors at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
