A Day at TIGER 21
"At TIGER 21, our focus is not just the return on investments, but the return on relationships." --Richard Lavin, Co-Founder
The core of the TIGER 21 experience is what happens in our group meetings.
Completely confidential and managed by a professional facilitator, these peer-to-peer sessions enable our members to acquire the skills and the mindset to become disciplined protectors of wealth.
Meeting monthly in high-energy, full day sessions, our members learn from top-flight guest experts and monitor investment opportunities in an intimate environment. Tens of millions of dollars of investment decisions have been made based on TIGER 21 meetings.
Just as importantly, though, these meetings provide a unique forum for candid discussions and peer-to-peer relationships among individuals facing similar challenges.
WHAT HAPPEN'S AT A TIGER 21 MEETING?
Our members join us once a month for a fast-moving day that offers intensive learning, exposure to new investments, personal interaction and camaraderie.
Let’s take a look at some of the exclusive features of the day:
Investment Ideas put forth by members are analyzed and evaluated in an open forum.
Issues and Opportunities that affect each member’s outlook—from world events to economic news to personal issues-- are explored at every meeting.
Discussions Led by World-Class Experts are features of every meeting. We choose topics of strong interest to our members, such as tax strategies, inter-generational wealth, economic trends, and family issues related to wealth. Often guest speakers will present specific investment opportunities for consideration. During these sessions, there is ample time for interaction with presenters. Members give their candid reviews of presenters and the investment opportunities put forth during the day. Our members say that the discussions are the most valuable part of a day at TIGER 21.
Portfolio Defense is the confidential disclosure and rational defense of an individual member’s investment portfolio, followed by candid feedback from the group. For most members, revealing and explaining their investment decisions to a highly engaged group of peers is a singular experience that provides tremendous learning. Each member’s portfolio defense is recorded. The (only) recording is then given to that member to share with anyone he or she chooses. This level of sharing creates the deep bonds that define the TIGER 21 experience.
"There are many opportunities out there to hear investment presentations. What makes our Presenter Program stand apart is the caliber and variety of experts we attract and the frank discussions that follow every presentation." --Michael Sonnenfeldt, Founder
PRESENTER PROGRAM
Because we believe that information is the currency of our society, TIGER 21 has established a top-flight Presenter Program to enhance the collective wisdom and investment acumen of its membership. At every TIGER 21 Group monthly meeting, a major component of the day is an intimate visit from a high-profile expert whose views and knowledge are relevant to members.
Since TIGER 21 began in 1999, hundreds of presenters have addressed our members. We have attracted such well-known names from the world of finance and investing as leading fund managers Mario Gabelli and Leon Cooperman; private equity pioneers David Rubenstein of the Carlyle Group and Thomas Lee of Lee Equity Partners; and the legendary investor and dealmaker Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman and CEO of the Blackstone Group, as well as T. Boone Pickens of BP Capital.
We also regularly host numerous non-financial speakers, such as renowned cardiac surgeon and health care advocate Dr. Mehmet Oz; Jewish spiritualist Irwin Kula; and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell, who spoke to us about international relations. Experts about wealth-related issues are also welcomed: Stephen Lash, chairman of the auction house Christie’s, Melissa A. Berman, Ph.D., President & CEO, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Charles Collier, senior philanthropic advisor at Harvard University, and Nancy Gabel, managing director of the estate planning group at U.S. Trust Company.
Most (if not all) presentations are recorded and some are broadcast for members attending Headliner meetings remotely. An extensive, web-accessible archive of past presentations is available for the exclusive use of TIGER 21 members.
