James R. Cohen heads the firm’s tax and estates department. The firm recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Mr. Cohen serves private clients, hedge funds and other money managers with a focus on tax-efficient investing. He has been involved with private placement variable life insurance (his favorite tax efficient investment structure) for over eight years. Mr. Cohen’s clients include more than 200 funds and many investment advisory accounts with aggregate assets under management of many billions of dollars. Mr. Cohen graduated from Dartmouth College and received both his J.D. and LL.M. degrees in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
