John Naporano
John Naporano is the Portfolio Manager and Head of Research for Breakwater Capital Management. His investment management experience prior to founding Breakwater one year ago was most recently as a Senior Analyst at Turnstone Capital Management, a long/short equity hedge fund. At Turnstone, Mr. Naporano was responsible for identifying, researching, and monitoring investments in technology, materials, industrial and other sectors. Mr. Naporano performed fundamental company, industry, and financial analysis on long and short equity positions. Prior to Turnstone, Mr. Naporano served as Portfolio Manager from 2000 to 2002 at Janx Partners, L.P., a long only value—oriented private investment partnership. Prior to Janx, Mr. Naporano was Vice President Finance & Administration from 1998 to 2000 at Metal Management, Inc., a publicly traded scrap metal recycling company. Prior to this role, from 1993 to 1998, Mr. Naporano was Chief Financial Officer of Nimco Shredding Company, a privately held scrap metal recycling company. Mr. Naporano received a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
