Carolyn Hursh is Chairman of the Board, James Richardson & Sons, Limited, a family-owned corporation headquartered in Winnipeg, with interests in agriculture, oil and gas, financial services and real estate. Founded in 1857, the company celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2007. A Director of the Firm since 1991, Carolyn also chairs the Corporate Governance Committee, as well as all shareholder and family meetings. Carolyn also serves as a Director of Corus Entertainment Inc.Actively involved in her community, Carolyn serves as Chairman of the Max Bell Foundation, as Director of the Alberta Mentor Foundation for Youth, and on the Advisory Committee of the Family Business Management Program at the University of Calgary.Carolyn attended the University of Manitoba, where she obtained a Bachelor of Social Work in 1974, and Masters of Social Work in 1978. From 1974 to 1993, Carolyn served as a research consultant in the field of social welfare.Carolyn is married to Larry Hursh, Q.C.; they live in Calgary and have three children.
