Martin Murbach

Chairman, Fincor Capital

Martin Murbach is the active chairman of Fincor Capital SA in Switzerland and Fincor SA in the Bahamas. Both firms are a combination of family offices and international asset managers. The clients come from all continents and are individuals and families known to Martin and his partner for 20 years or more.In the last 25 years of his 40 years in banking, Martin served as CEO and/or Chairman of banks in Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria and their subsidiaries in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas.After the traditional Swiss banking education, he joined Citibank in Geneva and worked in London, Milan, and then five years in New York. After completing the Harvard SMP in 1980, he became General Manager of Citibank in Switzerland and subsequently head of the bank in Germany with responsibilities for the German-speaking countries. He then was President and CEO of Royal Trust in Switzerland.  In 1990, he took over as CEO, and later chairman, of Finter Bank, a medium-sized private bank with subsidiaries and sister banks in France, Germany, and the Bahamas. Martin retired in 2006 but set up the Fincor Group to take care of his lifelong clients and friends.Martin traveled to 90 countries and is an active investor in China since 1994. He collects contemporary art since his time in New York in the 70’s. Today, he spends equal time in Switzerland, the Bahamas, London, and on the road.
