Michael W. Ranger

Michael W. Ranger is a Senior Managing Director of Diamond Castle Holdings (private equity investments) and focuses on Energy and Power investments. Mr. Ranger joined the $5.3 billion DLJ Merchant Banking Partners fund of CSFB private equity in 2002, as a partner dedicated to energy and power investments and was Co-Chairman of its Global Energy Partners. Prior to that Mr. Ranger was a leading investment banker in the energy and power sector for 20 years. He was Head of the Domestic Power Group at CSFB, and prior to that he was Group Head of Global Energy and Power at DLJ. Mr. Ranger was Senior Vice President in the Energy & Utility Group at Drexel Burnham Lambert, and prior to that he was a member of the Utility Banking Group at Bankers Trust. During his investment banking tenure, Mr. Ranger lead significant transactions with clients including Niagara Mohawk, TXU Corp., El Paso Energy, Dominion Resources , El Paso Electric, New Energy Ventures, CMS Energy, Central Vermont and Great Plains Energy. Many of these assignments were complex restructuring transactions, and a number of them created private equity investment opportunities. Mr. Ranger is a Trustee of St. Lawrence University, and is on the Boards of The Seeing Eye, INC. and Morristown-Beard School. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TXU Corp (NYSE: TXU). Mr. Ranger received a B.A. from St. Lawrence University in 1980.
