David H. Talbot

Investment Manager, Medical Performance Fund, LP

David H. Talbot is a widely recognized specialist in the healthcare investment field. He has compiled over 30 years of experience as a senior analyst at various Wall Street institutional research and investment banking firms. Mr. Talbot is presently an independent consultant, primarily engaged as Investment Manager of the Medical Performance Fund, L.P. The list of firms with whom Mr. Talbot has been associated as a healthcare research analyst includes Melhado, Flynn & Associates (1994-05), Arnold and S. Bleichroeder (1988-94), Needham & Co. (1987-88), Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. (1976-87), William Witter, Inc. (1971-76) and F. Eberstadt & Co. (1969-71). Mr. Talbot was a Managing Director of Melhado, Flynn & Associates, Inc from 1994 to 2005. In 1996, Mr. Talbot founded and served as Investment Advisor to the Healthcare Industry Reform Investment Trust, plc. (for a 2-year period) which was listed on the London Stock Exchange. Mr. Talbot is a Managing Partner of HealthReform Technology, L.P., which was founded in 1996. Mr. Talbot began as a healthcare industry generalist when he joined Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. in 1976. His expertise and coverage of the medical supply and the hospital management sectors gained him Institutional Investor All-Star poll recognition for eleven consecutive years. He was particularly well known for his coverage of large and complex companies like Johnson & Johnson that were diversified across multiple sectors including OTC drugs, diagnostics, and prescription pharmaceuticals. Mr. Talbot was also active in covering medical service stocks ranging from nursing homes to clinical labs, as well as some of the early companies in biotechnology. During his years at Drexel, he was involved with healthcare investment banking transactions that had a total value in excess of $2 billion. At William D. Witter, Inc., Mr. Talbot became one of the first Wall Street analysts to specialize in coverage of medical supply stocks. He also served as President of the Health Industries Analyst Group of New York, and wrote the healthcare industry chapter of the Financial Analyst’s Handbook. Mr. Talbot began his Wall Street healthcare career as an analyst at F. Eberstadt and Company, an institutional research firm that specialized in chemical and drug stocks. Mr. Talbot has a B.A. degree from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate Business School.
